Writer Creates Blog to Promote Positive Image of Mexico
After traveling through Mexico for the last 20 years, freelance writer and public relations consultant, Susie Albin-Najera turned her passion into a reality by creating The MEXICO Report, an article-based site focusing on positive news, information and reports related to Mexico.
This month, the blog celebrates its first year anniversary.
“Being able to communicate a positive message about travel to Mexico was my main motivation in creating the blog,” said Albin-Najera. “It’s unique in that it focuses on Mexico everywhere, not just in Mexico. In celebration of Mexican culture, this platform allows me to tell stories that you might not hear about in the news. But there’s an endless supply of positive content to cover.”
The mission of The MEXICO Report is to showcase the positive side of the country including travel, leisure, entertainment, arts, events, culture, people, places, community, cuisine, language, lifestyle, landmarks, tourism destinations, hotels, spas, beaches, sports, entrepreneurs and much more. You will find profiles, reviews and one-on-one interviews with people of the community or those who are making a difference in reflecting a positive image of Mexico.
The site is suited to all markets and ethnicities; English-dominant or bilingual, primarily age 18-60, culture seekers, technology-driven, social media savvy professionals, consumers and those with an affinity for travel and adventure.
The site has been well received and is growing significantly with each post. In the first year, Albin-Najera wrote/posted approximately 45 articles and garnered close to 20,000 unique visits, mainly driven from social media sites.
“My goal is to become the go-to site for Mexico-related information,” said Albin-Najera. The response to the blog has actually exceeded my expectations and it’s very rewarding because it confirms that people want to see a positive image of Mexico.”
