The very entertaining chef Chuck Hughes of “Chuck’s Day Off” is back with a new series, creatively titled, “Chuck’s Week Off: Mexico,” which premiered this month on the Cooking Channel.
Chuck is hungry for a break from his daily grind. So he’s heading to Mexico and cruising across the country in an open-air jeep looking for culinary adventures. He works a shift at a taco stand; he delivers sandwiches in Guadalajara; he ropes a cow with a group of Mexican cowboys; he goes deep-sea fishing; and he dives into sinkholes. From coast to coast, Chuck lives out once-in-a-lifetime experiences, meets awesome people and cooks and eats amazing, authentic food!
Chuck takes a break from running his two restaurants and heads to Mexico with each episode taking place in a different city or region of the country. If you’ve seen “Chuck’s Day Off,” you’ll know that the energetic Hughes won’t just be eating and drinking his way across the country, but he’ll be getting into the kitchens to learn how to make the dishes he’ll be enjoying. Cabo San Lucas, Loreto, Guadalajara and Mexico City are on the itinerary.
Chuck’s so passionate about food, see which ones he has tattooed on his body in his bio here.
