For the first time, Fathom Events will partner with FS1 to United States vs. Mexico Men’s National Soccer Teams In Winner-Take-All Game LIVbring one of the most anticipated soccer matches of the year into cinemas across the country. The United States Men’s National Soccer Team will duke it out in a winner-take-all game against Mexico’s team with the theatrical event, “FS1 Presents: USA v Mexico,” coming to select U.S. cinemas on Saturday, October 10. The game will be shown LIVE from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with a kick-off time of 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. MT / 6:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. AK / 3:30 p.m. HI. In-theater pregame coverage, featuring the final portion of FS1’s extensive live pregame show from the Rose Bowl, will begin 30 minutes prior to kick-off.

This matchup marks the latest chapter in this storied rivalry, where the two teams will fight for the right to represent CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Associated Football) in the 2017 Confederation Cup, an important tournament in Russia, home to the FIFA World Cup in 2018. This in-theater opportunity gives fans the chance to join together for the ultimate fan experience to cheer on their team during this high-stakes match.

Tickets for FS1 Presents: USA v Mexico” are available by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in more than 200 select movie theaters including the New York, Los Angeles and Chicago markets. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

The CONCACAF representative to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup will be decided by a play-off between the two CONCACAF Gold Cup winners prior to the Confederations Cup. A natural rivalry exists between the national soccer teams of Mexico and the United States, widely considered the two major powers of CONCACAF. The first match was played in 1934 and the teams have met 65 times, with Mexico leading the overall series 33–19–14 (W–L–T), outscoring the U.S. 131–75. However, since the 1990s, tides began to change due to a rapid growth of soccer in the United States. During this decade, Mexico continued to hold an edge over their arch-rivals, but since the 2000s the series has favored the U.S. 13–5–5 (W–L–T).

“Fathom has had great success bringing sporting events to movie theaters and we’re back again! This time we’re excited to begin a partnership with FS1 to bring this epic soccer match to the big screen,” said Fathom Events CEO John Rubey.

“We’re really excited to be working with Fathom Events to bring the huge match between the U.S. and Mexico to big screens throughout the country,” said FOX Sports Head of Business David Nathanson. “Live sports are the ultimate shared community experience, and the electric scene at what will be a jam-packed Rose Bowl will no doubt have fans in theaters feeling as if they’re in Pasadena too.”
