June 18, 2013 – The Mexico Report, an online magazine-style blog showcasing positive news about Mexico, travel and philanthropy will celebrate its four-year anniversary on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
With nearly a quarter of a million visits to date, The Mexico Report was Named ‘Top Five Favorite Blogs in Mexico’ by Readers’ Choice Awards by About.com and a ‘Top Blog Mexico’ by GoOverseas.com. The blog was created by travel writer/marketing and public relations specialist Susie Albin-Najera out of a longtime love for Mexico but more of a need to show the view of an average, everyday tourist visiting Mexico’s popular tourists destinations and more so, destinations off the beaten path.
“It’s been very rewarding to keep Mexico in the spotlight by offering a constant supply of positive news and current, everyday events,’ said blog creator Albin-Najera. “Not only has the blog metamorphosed into a top resource for those looking to discover Mexico, but those who also live and work in Mexico who enjoy reading a fresh alternative to what they might read in unrelated news about the country.”
The Mexico Report produces an annual ‘Navidad Gifts for Good Guide’ that helps showcase merchandise from local communities, non-profits or NGOs throughout Mexico, and will produce its 2nd Annual ‘Real Heroes of Mexico’ book due out in July, showcasing the unsung heroes in Mexico, those who are making a difference in their communities and those with a commitment to showcasing the country as a premiere tourist destination.
With its most popular posts to date ‘16 Positive Things About Mexico (and I’m only getting started), and ‘What to Really Worry About When Visiting Mexico’, along with news, The Mexico Report also creates and produces celebrity testimonial videos and provides a list of non-profit organizations in Mexico, volunteer opportunities, current events, a newsletter and has also sponsored dozens of local, community events. Albin-Najera has been writing about Mexico for nearly 15 years.
