RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO – Fairmont Mayakoba, the Riviera Maya resort recently named one of the “Top 50 Resorts in Mexico ” by Condé Nast’s Traveler’s 2011 Readers Choice Awards, welcomes Sven-Erik Richter as Hotel Manager to its hotel management team. A veteran of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand and other premier luxury hotels throughout the world, Richter brings over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry. His most recent positions included Director of Operations at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle as well as the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace in Switzerland .

After attaining the rank of Captain in the German Air Force Academy , Sven-Erik earned his Hotel Management Diploma from Chamber of Commerce , Hamburg , Germany. In addition to his extensive knowledge and experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Sven-Erik brings a diverse trilingual background to the team with fluency in German, French, and English. As the newly appointed hotel manager of Fairmont Mayakoba, he will play a leading role in maintaining the resort’s esteem as one of the leading eco-tourism and award-winning destinations in the world.
