Highlighting the positive or showcasing the greatness in people or culture has always been my top priority in writing or blogging – especially when it comes to Mexico and giving it the recognition it deserves. I see enough bad junk in the world news and seriously, life’s much too short.
Most of you have seen that my blogs pertain to non-profs quite a bit – and those organizations who are small and have a hard time getting their news distributed. One of my greatest joys is to see what happens when people read the posts…and react.
Recently I posted a piece about how to get involved with a non-profit that I am honored to work with, Corazon de Vida, located in Orange County with their work taking place in Baja California with 14 different orphanages.
Among many social media outlets, I also posted the piece on LinkedIn in one of the groups I’m in, and a doctor responded by sending me an email. He wanted to donate the services of his clinic and I gave him all of the info of how he could proceed.
A few weeks later, I received an email from him saying that they solidified a pilot health care program in Baja for one month, providing checkups, screenings and health care information for the kids.
The moment I received this email was one of those days I’ll remember forever. Such a small effort of posting an article can make a world of difference to others.
This is not the first story I have to share, there have actually been dozens of stories like this since I started this blog. I promise to share more of these with you in the future.
