UPDATED: Mexico Earthquake (Central and Southern) Relief Efforts and Links to Donate

UPDATED (as of Sept 22, 2017)

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, another powerful earthquake of 7.1 magnitude hit the central area of Mexico, centered around Mexico City / Puebla area. More than 230 people have died including several children. Rescuers have been working around the clock to save lives. They have also been working with trained rescue dogs who are identifying those still trapped. It has been a massive effort with aid coming in from all parts of the world.

->On the evening of September 7, a powerful 8.1 earthquake hit off the coast of Southern Mexico and killed at least 90 people, primarily in Chiapas and Oaxaca. Along with the death toll, the damage from the quake destroyed houses, businesses and more.

We included a few links to the organizations in which we’ve donated or worked with before. Donations go toward basic necessities such as food, water, medicines, temporary shelter and long-term recovery assistance.

You should include Topos México, it’s a rescue brigade that was founded in 1985 after the big earthquake that hit Mexico City. They help with organizing civilians in the removal of rubble and rescue of trapped people and animals. @topos on Twitter and their PayPal link is donativos@brigada-rescate-topos.org

Officially topos don’t have any website or Facebook page as per local mexican news and people from Topos made a video stating those are fake accounts. 😔. SO, BETTER TO DONATE @redcross or Gael Garcia Bernal’s
