WiLDCOAST, an international conservation team that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and wildlife, has announced it’s second annual Baja Bash to take place June 15, 2013 at Port Pavilion at the Broadway Pier in San Diego. The special fundraising event celebrating the Best of Baja will feature celebrity honorees, El Hijo del Santo and Award-winning Chef Javier Plascencia.
El Hijo del Santo (“The Son of the Saint”), is a Mexican professional wrestler, political activist and one of the most successful stars in Lucha Libre. He is the youngest son of the legendary professional wrestler, film actor and Mexican folk hero El Santo.
El Hijo del Santo has been the spokesperson for WiLDCOAST since 2007 and has been building grassroot support that spans across the Californias and Latin America. One of the projects he is most passionate about is the clean-up of the Tijuana River Valley, between Mexico and the U.S. He also has become a champion in the fight against turtle extinction and the survival of the gray whales.
Javiera Plascencia is an award-winning, world renown chef and owner of Mision 19 restaurant in Tijuana. He was the featured celebrity chef at last years’ Baja Bash. His restaurant and works have been written up in the New York Times, San Diego Union Tribune and more.

Baja Bash is a celebration to benefit WiLDCOAST’S work to preserve Baja’s coast and ocean.
