The MEXICO Report Launches Real Heroes of Mexico Project

LOS ANGELES  – January 30, 2012 – The MEXICO Report, a blog dedicated to showcasing positive stories about Mexico has launched its Real Heroes of Mexico project. The effort will recognize goodwill efforts taking place in Mexico and those who are making a difference. Those nominated for the awards will be showcased in June 2012.

The Real Heroes of MexicoThe MEXICO Report offers a refreshing alternative to what is presented in the mainstream news, the stories you don’t hear. Everyday people all throughout Mexico are doing amazing things in the community, in business, in the environment, in homes, in non-profits and all around who go above and beyond. The goal is to recognize and showcase their efforts, their bravery, their kindness, their achievements, their positive, inspirational stories and share them with the world.

In this mission, The MEXICO Report has assembled a team of Ambassadors, those who have their eye on Mexico and those who are also passionate about identifying and showcasing the good in Mexico, the unspoken heroes and acts of kindness, and those sincerely making a difference in bettering the image of Mexico.

We are honored to have such an incredible team as we launch this project, including:

Suzanne Barbezat of About.com Mexico Travel Guide; Julie Schwietert Collazo of Collazo Projects, Michele Kinnon of Buy Playa, Betsy McNair of My Mexico Tours, Kay Walten of LocoGringo.com, Sylvie Laitre of Mexico Boutique Hotels, Katherine Fisher of  Destination PEACE and Feed the Hungry San Miguel, Camilo Olea of Cancun is Safeand Susie Albin-Najera creator of  The MEXICO Report.

“Being able to communicate a positive message about Mexico was the main motivation in creating this project,” said Albin-Najera. “This platform will facilitate and expedite the goal of presenting more positive stories about Mexico and will give readers a choice when consuming news about Mexico.”

Nominations begin immediately and are open to anyone. Visitors to the site are encouraged to enter as frequently as possible. Nominees will be showcased once a month.
