The MEXICO Report Announces Call for Nominations for 2nd Annual ‘Real Heroes of Mexico’ 2013 Awards

Real Heroes of Mexico 2013 AwardsLOS ANGELES – April 3, 2013 – Today The MEXICO Report, an online magazine-style blog showcasing positive stories about Mexico announced the launch of its 2nd Annual ‘Real Heroes of Mexico’ project with a call for nominations. Now until May 12, nominations will be accepted for those who go above and beyond to make a difference in Mexico.

The Real Heroes of Mexico is a one-of-a-kind, grassroots passion project recognizing and showcasing goodwill efforts taking place all throughout Mexico today. The project was created by The MEXICO Report in 2012 inline with its mission to showcase the good news and positive stories taking place in Mexico.

“Our goal is to present another side of Mexico for people to know and understand,” said Susie Albin-Najera, creator of the project. “There is so much unrecognized goodwill efforts taking place in Mexico, led by unsung heroes.  With this project, we are able to recognize and showcase those who are working hard to make a difference in their communities.”

With the success of the project last year in its inception, more than 45 Real Heroes of Mexico profiles were recognized and showcased online and in book form, and were nominated by the general public along with nine ambassadors.

This year The MEXICO Report is honored to present another involved group of Real Heroes of Mexico Ambassadors who have their eye on Mexico and in the communities. The Ambassadors represent different territories in Mexico such as Tijuana, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca and more.  Along with the general public, the team of Ambassadors will be instrumental in identifying deserving heroes for the project and nominating them.
