State Grant Helps Purchase New Vehicles For FTHSM

Earlier this month FTHSM took delivery of four shiny new vehicles from the Vegusa Grupo Nissan dealership in San Miguel thanks to a State grant from Guanajuato. FTHSM applied for the grant in May knowing it needed to replace its fleet due to the high mileage, age and condition of its current vehicles. The State grant totaling $860,000 pesos with an additional match of $180,000 pesos from FTHSM enabled the organization to replace all four supervisors work vehicles with 2012 Nissan Gama NP300 trucks.

Vegusa Grupo General Manager Christian Angulano agreed to match the best price of any dealership in the country so that the vehicles could be purchased and serviced in San Miguel de Allende. He also filled up all the tanks with gasoline, agreed to provide the first service free and threw a little celebration party to handover the vehicles. It was a great day for Feed the Hungry’s board of trustees, staff and supporters, especially Fernando Leon who helped FTHSM apply for the grant and acquire the fleet. “The work trucks also came at a time when we needed them most,” claims FTHSM President Howard Gleason.
