San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – Sagrada Wellness Mexico located in the picturesque mountains overlooking the vibrant city of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico will be changing hands and welcoming its new owners this week, Blair Shurtleff and Shane Pablo Hayward. An all-inclusive, luxury boutique resort, Sagrada Wellness specializes in yoga and Pilates retreats and restorative vacations in Mexico.
“We are very excited about this new venture,” said Blair Shurtleff who has more than 27 years in the hospitality business. He is also the owner of several other properties including the luxurious, beachfront Casa Pericos in Yelapa (Puerto Vallarta), Jalisco.
“Guests can expect to be treated like family here, while relaxing in one of the most peaceful and sacred places in the world,” said Shurtleff. “For those visiting for the first time, you will experience the blissful sounds of nature, high desert refreshing atmosphere and perfect temperatures while gazing across expansive vistas just above the world-famous, UNESCO City of San Miguel de Allende.”
Co-owner Shane Hayward is a certified massage therapist and graduated from Baylor University. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and has many years experience running spa programs specializing in physical therapy. He will manage day-to-day spa and wellness treatment operations for the resort.
Exciting renovations and upgrades are being planned at Sagrada Wellness Mexico such as three new private casitas, a lounge library and a soaking pool for watsu, a soothing type of massage that takes place in warm, waist-deep water. New retreats and workshops will also include voluntourism opportunities, full moon cocktail parties, writers and actors retreats, gal getaways, guy getaways, corporate retreats, small weddings, honeymoons and much more. The upgraded and picturesque yoga pavilion, with its breathtaking views, will be used for special events and activities.
With consistently stellar ratings on TripAdvisor, Sagrada Wellness Mexico was ranked among the top 10 Best Bed & Breakfasts in all of San Miguel de Allende. Originally constructed in 2006 by its former owner and green architect Scott Currie along with his wife Eva Inglizian, Sagrada was built with a respect for the environment in mind. The use of local, sustainable materials such as sun-baked adobes, reclaimed wood and terra-cotta tiles from abandoned haciendas have created refined indoor-outdoor living spaces with modern amenities.
The new owners are excited to take the service up to new levels as well by introducing a new ‘Daycation’ VIP program which invites locals to visit Sagrada for the day, whether it be for enjoying a meal, participating in yoga or walk or just lounging at the pool. Day guests will be able to take advantage of the exceptional services and breathtaking location in their own backyard.
“We welcome the community of San Miguel with open arms,” said Shurtleff. ‘We want to give back to the community and open up our facility for fundraisers and local community events and much more.”
All-inclusive guests will enjoy three gourmet meals per day, along with daily yoga class, quality time in the mesquite fired sauna and use of WiFi. Guests also have the option to visit the many local, nearby hot springs, or the charming town of San Miguel de Allende located just minutes away with the new, regularly scheduled complimentary transportation.
Sagrada Wellness Mexico will also be offering specials including complimentary spa services, massages and many other perks with each booking, now until the end of August.
