FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN DIEGO – (January 8, 2010) – A veteran of the Mexican wrestling industry, Ruben Zamora has created newly formed company Masked Republic, the first integrated live event, merchandising and media organization in the United States specializing in the emerging growth market of lucha libre (Mexican wrestling).
For years now, when U.S. based wrestling promotions wanted the world famous luchadors of Mexico to appear at their events, Masked Republic founder Ruben Zamora was the one who received the phone call.
After he found himself involved in all aspects of lucha libre, including booking and running shows, supplying content, creating masks, capes, apparel and more, it made sense to consolidate it all under one roof. Zamora made it official when colleague, confidant and lucha libre industry professional Kevin Kleinrock suggested he make it formal.
The Masked Republic conglomerate consists of numerous divisions including talent representation, live entertainment, touring, merchandising, costume design and manufacturing, licensing, publishing, sales and sponsorships, whole distribution and multiple media platforms of including television, home entertainment, pay-per-view and digital.
Representing more than two dozen Mexico and U.S-based stars of the lucha world, some of the famous names under the Masked Republic name include Blue Demon, Jr., Rey Misterio, Sr., Hijo De Rey Misterio, Mascarita Dorada (Mini), LA PARK, Vampiro, Juventud Guerrera, Cassandro, Rayo De Jalisco, Solar, Super Astro, Villano III, Volador, Misterioso, Super Park, and many more mega stars. The first official SuperLuchas U.S. National Tour is currently in the works.
