The MEXICO Report
By Susie Albin-Najera
If you sat down to watch the 6 o’clock news, you would probably not want to come to Los Angeles for a visit, or Denver or Chicago or Miami or New York. But if you have been to any of those cities, you know that they are rich with culture, outdoor beauty, fascinating sites to see, great beaches, mountains, exciting ski slopes, fashion, sports, art, culture, world-class cuisine, history, love, good times, good experiences and much, much more. The evening news reports the crimes, fires, and disasters everywhere –that’s their job.
I can see why people who have not been to Mexico, are swayed by the negative news to form their opinions on the country as a whole. But there is one thing I ask of you, put it in context.
The main reason I started The MEXICO Report was to share the GOOD news about Mexico and report the stories I do not see on the evening news. Millions and millions of visitors spend their vacations, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, leisure time, retirement or their lives in Mexico and truly love it, absorb it, recommend it, share with their friends and most of all, return. In fact, in a small survey I conducted recently, 97% of the visitors to Mexico had a great experience and would return.
But with reason, there can be many things to worry about when traveling to Mexico.
But regardless if you met me at a party or a library, I would have the same enthusiasm for Mexico at any time of the day or night. There is so much good happening in Mexico, and there are just not enough hours in my day to report it all.
I love reporting the good news about Mexico, its people, places, customs, food, traditions, children, arts, beauty and all the things I have experienced in Mexico and would encourage you to experience Mexico for yourself if you haven’t already done so or if you are on the verge.
