Frommer’s, one of the most trusted names in travel and one of the bestselling travel guides in America, has released their list of Top 10 Destinations for 2012.

Out of a very impressive selection, we are thrilled to report that Mexico’s gorgeous Yucatán Peninsula makes the Top 10 List of recommended travel destinations for 2012!

According to the site, “This time every year, Frommer’s editors, authors, and experts from around the world finally settle on a list of our top destinations after months of bickering among ourselves. Choosing was harder than ever this year, so we ended up expanding our picks to include additional selections that were notable for a certain quality or offered something special for particular types of travelers.”

In her article, Frommer’s Contributor, Christine Delsol (Frommer’s MexicoFrommer’s Cancún & the YucatánSan Francisco Chronicle) offers a tantalizing take on all that is best about Mexico and why the Yucatán Peninsula  – including Yucatán (Mérida) and Quintana Roo (Cancun, Riviera Maya), Mexico makes the list.

Yucatán is also one of the safest states in Mexico and Mérida was awarded City of Peace in 2011.
