Mexico shines bright on the 2013 Condé Nast‘s Gold List 2013 and goes from ‘strong to stronger with a particularly impressive showing of high scores and new properties’.

Each year, Condé Nast Traveler Magazine presents its list of best hotels and resorts from all around the world on its prestigious Gold List.  On the 2012 list, Mexico had a staggering 33 properties —the most ever for Mexico until 2013, where now 37 hotels in Mexico make the list.

Per Condé Nast, “What is boldly apparent is that the country’s hotels and resorts continue to transfix our readers. The Americas has a whopping 116 properties this year (second only to the United States’ 195), a 25 percent leap from just five years ago. This year, 37 hotels and resorts from Mexico populate the list, and 7 of those are brand-new additions. A notable surge is evident in San Miguel de Allende, a central Mexican city filled with colonial architecture that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008—and is now home to three Gold List hotels.”
