Los Cabos to Host First Ever ‘Los Cabos Open of Surf’

Professional Surfers from Around the World Travel to Cabo to Participate in the Largest Surf and Music Event in Latin America

Los Cabos 1Stretching more than 30-miles of coastline, Los Cabos offers adrenaline-seekers something few surf destinations can lay claim to; year-round perfect waves on both sides of the Baja Peninsula. Known for it’s world-class hotels, championship golf courses and breathtaking beaches, this year the destination will add another superlative to the list by hosting the first ever Los Cabos Open of Surf from June 17-23. The Los Cabos Open of Surf will attract athletes from around the world, seeking to challenge themselves and conquer Cabo’s diverse landscape.

Los Cabos 3The Los Cabos Open of Surf is the largest surf and music festival in the history of Mexico and Latin America. The event will take place along Costa Azul’s famous Zippers Beach Break (known for producing 8 to 10 ft waves) and will serve as the site of one of the world’s most prestigious surf competitions, a WQS (world qualifying series) Men’s 6 Star ASP Event.  The ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) is the world´s top regulator of the sport and an important partner in the event. Some of today’s best surfers will compete for the chance to win a ticket to the World Championship Tour and a $155,000 cash prize.

Los Cabos 4International media outlets including E! Entertainment, Space Channel, as well as renowned surf magazines will attend the event and showcase Los Cabos’ vibrant culture, tourist attractions and world class hospitality on an international level.

Throughout the competition, the Los Cabos Open of Surf will also include a series of beach concerts with international artists and DJ’s, beach bars, a food fair showcasing fresh, local cuisine, fashion shows featuring some of the top surf brands, art walks and eco-friendly activities, showcasing the best of the surf lifestyle.
