HOLA MEXICO FILM FESTIVAL

Following the success of the Hola Mexico Film Festival (HMFF) in the United States in 2009, the renowned international festival is back for the second year in the U.S. beginning April 29, 2010. The Hola Mexico Film Festival is the largest tribute to Mexican film in the world and will again showcase the creativity, ingenuity and charm of Mexican cinema in six of the nation’s most influential cities:

Los Angeles: April 29 – May 4

San Francisco: May 6 – 11

Miami: May 13 – 16

Chicago: May 20 – 25

Washington D.C. : May 27 – June 1

New York: June 2 – 6

By screening the very best of Mexican cinema, the HMFF will take you on a journey through Mexico’s past, present and future. The festival reveals hidden gems in the Mexican film industry, showcasing the talent of highly coveted directors, producers and actors that work in Mexico. Each film reflects the maturity and complexity of authentic Mexican culture, bringing forth unique story lines and characters that the audience will never forget. Mexican ex-patriot and Festival Director Samuel Douek invites viewers to immerse themselves in a culture different than their own, without leaving their seats.

The international festival will screen contemporary films like the 2009 LA Film Festival award winner, Los Que Se Quedan (Those Who Remain) along classic films like Sexo, Pudor Y Lagrimas (Sex, Shame and Tears), paying tribute to Mexico’s biggest hits. General admission tickets range from $8.00 – $14.00 and VIP tickets are available for $40.00. 2010 marks Mexico’s 200 years of independence and 100th anniversary of their Revolution. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show; and celebrate this monumental year in Mexican history at the Hola Mexico Film Festival!

Centennial Celebration – 2010 brings about a monumental occasion for Mexico: the centennial of the Mexican Revolution and the bicentennial of the Independence movement. HMFF will commemorate this with free screenings of The Mexican Golden Age in Cinema. Producers Forum – HMFF will be hosting a producer’s forum in Los Angeles to explore the world of Mexican film making in Mexico City with the producers who know it best. Producers of HMFF films will be present during the forum as well.
