Entrepreneurship and Investing in Mexico – Expo Mexico Emprende Comes to Los Angeles

Designed as an interactive conference open to everyone, the Mexican government is bringing Expo Mexico Emprende to Los Angeles, a unique initiative offering in one place at one time numerous programs now available for entrepreneurs to create and grow businesses in Mexico. Set for August 19-21, 2011, the free Expo aims to create jobs, combat poverty and improve the quality of life for families in the U.S. and Mexico.

Looking to capitalize remittances, Mexico’s second highest source of income, the initiative seeks to ignite the entrepreneurial spark in Mexicans living abroad and in their country of origin. Potential entrepreneurs will discover that Mexico and 16 participating states are offering a wide range of resources and assistance, as well as access to the who’s who in Mexico entrepreneurship.

Alfonso Arau, prominent filmmaker and renowned writer-producer-director-actor for over twenty years, recipient of six Arieles, Mexico’s Oscar equivalent, and numerous international film awards, will present, “Franchises in the Film Industry.”  Rodolfo Neri Vela, the first Mexican astronaut and second Latin American astronaut to fly to outer space as passenger will present, “Exploring the Cosmos, If You Can Dream it You Can Achieve It.”  Alejandra Gonzalez Anaya, of Anima Inc., a company that fuses the stage arts, classical and contemporary dance, theatre, body dramaturgy, music, humor, aerial dance and the circus arts, will present, “Undertaking (Emprender) is to Fly.”

Workshop topics will include: how to navigate the current economic climate, movie business franchising, exploring the cosmos and the aerospace industry, innovation as a key business strategy, financing, marketing, starting or growing high-tech businesses, green businesses, franchising with over 500 Mexican and American companies participating, and the basics on how to start a business.

The three-day Expo is open to anyone interested in investing in Mexico.
