The 9th Annual Festival de Cine de Todos Santos, BCS will take place February 23 to March 3rd in Todos Santos and La Paz, and will present 10 days of films that reflect the diversity and excellence of Latino cinema. Thirty (30) award-winning feature films, documentaries and short films from Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Chile, Spain, El Salvador will be shown.
All films are in Spanish with English subtitles.
The Festival opens in Todos Santos at the Teatro Manuel Marquez de León, (Feb 23-Feb 27) and has added two new venues in La Paz. The Teatro Juarez, a beautiful old theater located in the downtown historic district, an important cultural space that originally opened in 1910 and has been recently remodeled. Galería Galería , will be screening family films for two days.
Films will continue to be shown as part of the Academic Program at the Universidad Autónoma de BCS in La Paz where a large number of students have enjoyed a groundbreaking program of documentaries and feature films.
The Festival is also excited to announce its association with Ambulante, a traveling festival of documentaries, founded by Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, which will showcase a diverse program during the festival. The festival now part of a network of 12 states that shares the journey of great documentaries, and celebrates the vision, dreams and hopes of talented Mexican filmmakers.
