Why We Are Fanning Out Over Mexicool

Mexicool, the Mexico-inspired apparel and novelty gift brand created by Robby and Samantha Vient, has us fanning out.

The first day I wore my soft cotton La Jefa shirt, people began commenting. “I have to get that t-shirt because people at work call me the boss lady,” a friend told me.

“I almost bought you that same shirt when we were in Texas last week,” my sister confessed.

La Jefa t-shirt is one of Mexicool’s best sellers and can be purchased online or in stores throughout the U.S.. The Mexicool product line consists of men and women’s novelty t-shirts, wallets, candles, air fresheners and caps.

Four years ago, Robby Vient and his wife, Samantha (who also received The Mexico Report’s Real Heroes of Mexico Award ), started their company, Mexicool, based on their love of Mexican culture. Robby, a Mazatlan native, completed his studies in illustration at the Art Center, College of Design in Los Angeles.

Robby and Samantha spent a few years experimenting with product ideas and concepts along with their sense of humor, until Mexicool finally emerged as a clear concept of a fun apparel/novelty brand that celebrates Mexico’s cultural crossroads with the rest of the world.

“When we started, we wanted to challenge the conventions of the Mexican souvenir and novelty industry and share with the world that Mexico goes far beyond sombreros, margaritas and sugar skulls,” said Samantha. “We wanted to create a brand that celebrates Mexico, its relationships and influences with the world, in a clever and humorous manner.

“Estar Guars” and “Arturito” parody tees are among the brand favorites. New to the product line is “Los Wukis” which has already proven to be a big hit. “La Jefa” tee is a favorite among women customers. “Bick’s Vaporuub” air fresheners are must haves.

Mexicool recently released popular ladies tees in tank top versions, including Cabrona Extra, Princesa, Reyna and more. For the guys, taco tees or Mexican foodie and for all, “Chela” or “Chesco” air fresheners to cool off. Check out the Mexicool video below.
