The world’s most expensive taco debuts at Grand Velas Los Cabos as part of resort’s WOW Experiences
Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort’s Executive Chef Juan Licerio Alcala has created the most expensive taco in the world.
The culinary masterpiece, served at the new five-star resort’s Frida restaurant, includes premium ingredients such as langoustine, Kobe beef, Almas Beluga caviar and black truffle brie cheese. An exotic salsa created of dried Morita chili peppers, Ley.925 ultra-premium añejo tequila and civet coffee tops the taco which is served on a gold flake-infused corn tortilla.
“Our ultimate goal at Grand Velas Los Cabos is to break the mold of expected, traditional cuisine, going outside of the box and creating new, exciting experiences for our well-traveled and foodies guests, said the chef. “I created the taco by searching for the most premium products from Mexico – like the Morita Chiles, tequila, lobster – and combining them with the most expensive ingredients found around the globe.”
To complement the world’s most expensive taco, a hand-crafted, white gold and pure platinum bottle of Ley.925 Pasión Azteca Ultra Premium Añejo accompanies the custom dish for an additional $150K.
The taco is just the first of such WOW experiences we will be rolling out in the coming months at the resort. A wine lovers over-the-top getaway for millionaires that takes guests via private jet to the bodega in Ensenada / Valle de Guadalupe where Velas Resorts buys its Mexican wines, Nightcap Dessert Pairings in the Presidential Suites, and a Craft Beer Pop-Up are also planned.
