“We are pleased to welcome Susie Albin-Najera to our Board of Advisors,” said founder of Corazon de Vida, Hilda Pacheco-Taylor. “We believe that Susie’s participation, expertise and love of Mexico will be an asset to our organization and the children we support.”
Corazon de Vida, founded in 1994, provides much needed funding for food, water and utilities, as well as supplies, healthcare and educational opportunities to 14 different orphanages in Baja California, from Tijuana to Ensenada. Monthly fieldtrips are arranged to the homes in Mexico from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego for those who are interested in volunteering and having the opportunity to bring food, fun, love and cheer to the kids.
A Marketing Manager for Mexico for Pleasant Holidays and creator and editor of The Mexico Report travel blog highlighting good news and philanthropy efforts in Mexico, Susie Albin-Najera will provide communications, media relations and strategic marketing expertise for Corazon de Vida. She will also be instrumental in fundraising and securing donations for silent auctions.
Albin-Najera became involved with Corazon de Vida more than four years ago when invited to attend a fundraising event with her husband, award-winning writer-performer-author, Rick Najera in Los Angeles. From then, she quickly began to write about the events on her magazine-style blog, The Mexico Report, covering the successful impact that Corazon de Vida was making in Baja California. The stories generated traditional news media coverage, social media distribution, awareness of the foundation and have delivered results through donations and more.
Founded by Hilda Pacheco-Taylor, former resident of one of the same orphanage her foundation now funds, Corazon de Vida will celebrate its 20-year anniversary in 2014.
