The Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau – the first in Mexico to receive an EarthCheck certification – announces that the destination will host the The Cancun 2011 First International Social Networking Conference to be held on the 25th and 26th of November at the Cancun Convention Center.

This great international meeting will bring together leading figures of Mexico’s social networking scene, as well as businessmen and representatives of media. Based on their experience and knowledge of the subject, speakers will offer a series of lectures and workshops with themes such as “Work Ethic in Social Networking,” “The Online Phenomenon of Express Newspapers and BlackBerrys,” and “Legal Framework of Social Networks in Mexico,” among others.

These conferences will be chaired by the likes of Jordi Rosado; Ricardo Garza, editor of the Revista GatoPardo in Mexico; Juan Pablo Mirabent, President of the Mexican Association of Real Estate in Cancun.

Other local celebrities who will be in attendance include Anahí, to speak about the more than 2-million followers he has on Twitter and Antanás Mockus, the twice elected mayor of Bogota, Colombia who is in the process of his third campaign, with a video about the power of social networks in a political campaign.

As social networking is a digital phenomenon that naturally attracts the younger generation, the The Cancun 2011 First International Social Networking Conference will also feature an event called Cancun & Riviera Maya Social Nets Fest, which will be held inside the beach club and famed nightclub, The City – located in the heart of Cancun’s hotel zone – and where there will be a relaxed atmosphere with live music by “Tricilo Circus Band.”

This conference will work to keep the destination constantly advancing through innovative technologies within the pace set by current world trends through social networks, generating better and more attractive strategies to attract more Cancun tourists and their service providers.

Registration for the Congress, as well as information about special rates for lodging and more information are available on website:  www.pciredessocialescancun2011.com.
