The MEXICO Report
By Susie Albin-Najera
If you are thinking of heading to the Cancun area on your next family vacation, The Great Parnassus is a great option for families traveling with kids. This all-inclusive, oceanfront hotel offers special values for families including a ‘kids stay free’ deal (one child up to eight years old is free and second and third children up to 17 years are $50 each per night).
In addition to air-conditioned and spacious rooms including Deluxe rooms, Club Rooms, Suites, Master Rooms, Theme Suites and Presidential Suite, the hotel offers a Family room equipped with bunk beds accommodating up to three kids.
The hotel offers exciting family entertainment as well such as the Treasure Island Water Park, miniature golf, a baby club, kids club and a teens disco. The kids club includes activities such as dodge ball, soccer, face painting, movie time, Lego races, sandcastle making and much more. There are many pool activities throughout the day and evening entertainment for all. Kids will not go hungry either in any of the 10 international restaurants and buffet eating stations.
Moms can also get a little pampering time in as well at the full-service spa. European treatments and therapeutic massages are available including a Swiss shower, pressure shower, sauna, floating whirlpool, couples Jacuzzi, couples massage, body scrubs, peelings, facials and body wraps. I highly recommend a facial (using the environmentally-friendly Germaine de Capuccini product line) along with a 30-minute relaxing foot massage. The spa also has a beauty salon and offers haircuts, make up, hair styling, waxing, manicure, pedicure, nail treatments and many other services.
The Great Parnassus is owned by Salvador and Irma Ornelas, who graciously hosted us on our recent stay as we were scouting hotels for a television comedy special. Even though we were traveling without our kids, this dynamic duo (with two children themselves) know how to pamper families and show guests a great time.

Great post Susie! I’ve never been to the Great Parnassus yet, but it sure does look nice!

We spent our 20 anniversary here. What a beautiful hotel. It was Oct. so some rest. were limited on the times they were open. If you want to be pampered this is the place. Carlos is a very gracious host for the hotel.
carlos was an amazing host, i really want to go back!
I agree the hotel is great hotel to visit. Recommended for families and also for people of all ages. The assets of the hotel are the service, the excellent food and the beach. I loved it and I will go back!!
