Three Spanish conquistadors, Captain Diego de Ordaz, Gonzalo and Pedro, march to the summit of the great volcano Popocatepetl. It is an arduous walk; they face the strength of nature and the fear of the unknown. Yet their biggest obstacle could be within them, as they doubt the purpose of the conquest of the New World. Epitaph (Epitafio) is directed by Yulene Olaizola and Rubén Imaz and stars Xabier Coronado, Martín Román, and Carlos Triviño.

NBFF Corporate Logo“The Festival is exceptionally proud to showcase such strong Latino cinema,” stated Gregg Schwenk, CEO of the Newport Beach Film Festival. “Epitaph (Epitafio) is a story of will-power to overcome the volcano and of the overt power to conquer the Aztec Empire.”

The Mexican Spotlight film will screen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at Edwards Big Newport (300 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach, CA 92660)
